In October 2025, the winners of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award —the highest national-level scientific and technological accolade in the machinery sector, established by China Machinery Industry Federation and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society—were officially announced. Huachangda Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "HCD Group") was honored with the Third Prize of the Technological Invention Award under the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award for its project "AR-Assisted Technology and Application Based on Intelligent Perception in Production Sites." In complex production environments such as high-end equipment manufacturing and the automotive industry, traditional operational models have long faced challenges such as difficulties in real-time monitoring of process execution, delayed detection of assembly errors or omissions, and over-reliance on manual expertise for quality control. The research and development of AR-assisted technology and application based on intelligent perception in production sites aims to fundamentally address these pain points. It creatively integrates artificial intelligence (AI) visual perception with augmented/mixed reality (AR/MR) technology, establishing a workshop-level "digital twin" perception and control assistance system. By leveraging intelligent perception methods like AI vision to capture critical manufacturing process information—including component fabrication or assembly status, process execution conditions, and manufacturing quality—and combining it with 3D positioning and virtual-real fusion display enabled by AR and MR technologies, the system performs real-time analysis through deep learning algorithms. This achieves 3D visual intelligent guidance for the manufacturing process, monitors production status and procedure compliance, and provides functions such as error/omission alerts and defect alarms, as well as online analysis and prediction of manufacturing quality.
AR-assisted technology and application based on intelligent perception in production sites, deeply integrates AI visual perception with augmented/mixed reality (AR/MR) to establish a workshop-level digital twin assistance system covering the full workflow of "perception – analysis – decision – guidance." By leveraging AI vision to capture assembly status, process execution, and quality information in real time, and utilizing AR/MR for three‑dimensional visual guidance and real‑time error prevention, the system enables "pre‑emptive prediction," "in‑process error prevention," and "real‑time operation guidance." This makes the manufacturing flow visible, processes optimizable, and product quality predictable, significantly enhancing transparency, controllability, and first‑pass yield in production.
The technology has already been piloted and validated across multiple high-end industrial scenarios, including aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and advanced equipment, demonstrating strong replicability and scalable value.
